Salvation is the unearned, free gift of God.
“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”

The gospel is simultaneously about deeply, richly and personally knowing the God of the universe, who put on flesh to die for you.
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”

Being a follower of Jesus is filled with hardship, but knowing Jesus is worth far more than any hardship.
